Dog of the week

Blu is such a sweet girl. I love walking her, she is like a little rocket darting in and out of the bushes. She is so well behaved and gets along with my Springer and the other dog I occasionally walk with her.

Why is she wearing a muzzle?

Blu can be reactive if approached by another dog in a threatening manner, her aim would be to protect at all costs. And as we all know, Staffordshire Bull Terriers are strong!! So in this instance, prevention is better than cure!

This shows that her owners are responsible dog owners! Why wait for your dog to attack another dog (albeit in defence), when you can prevent it from happening in the first instance. Blu still gets to enjoy all of her walks, without the worry of any embarrassing situations occurring. Personally on my walks with Blu, I have never seen anything but a sweet girl enjoying her freedom.

If a dog wearing a muzzle approaches you, don’t be scared. There are many different reasons a dog could be wearing it, from eating something dangerous to having the ability to be aggressive.
